English lesson 30 write a two page essay on a country of your choice.
Have you ever heard about the country Andorra? If you have, great. If you haven’t, that’s okay. I hadn’t either until I was looking for a country to write about. I will talk about the sights you can see in Andorra, what they eat, the sports they play, and some fun facts about Andorra and it’s culture. I hope you learn something about this country.
The area of Andorra is 180.7 miles squared, and the population contains 76,965 people. This small country is located in the Pyrenees mountains by Spain and France. Most of its buildings are made from stone, and some of Andorra’s prettiest buildings are churches.
The Andorrian culture eats a lot of the same things we eat, but also some things we don’t eat. One of their world wide dishes is called Escudella. It is a type of stew that is usually eaten in winter. It contains meat and vegetables, but pasta shells are added as well. Another thing they eat is something that people here don’t usually eat, is snails. Yes, I said snails.
Just like in our country, there are many different sports in Andorra. Though their traditional sport is rugby, football is the most popular game. Other sports that are played are roller hockey, tennis, swimming, volleyball, skiing and more.
In Andorra, you can find food festivals, live music, and theatre. Children there love to ski and do other sports.
Some fun facts of Andorra are: Andorra is the sixteenth smallest country in the world. 90% of Andorrian religion is Roman Catholic. Andorra’s flag looks similar to Chad, Moldova, and Romania’s flags. For entertainment, there are food festivals, live music, and theater. Andorra also has never won an Olympic medal.
I loved researching about Andorra, and I hope you enjoyed reading about it as much as I enjoyed writing it.
