I’ve been reading “The Cat of Bubastes” for school and I’m supposed to do a summary about what I’ve read so far; which is to chapter 10.
The book starts out with the main character’s, Ambua’s, nation going to war with the Egyptians. During the war, the king, also Ambua’s father, dies. After the war, the Egyptians won, so they captured some people for slaves -including Ambua, the prince. Whenever you hear the word slavery, you probably think of people making other poeple that are held captive, do their work. But it’s different than what the Egyptian’s concept of slavery is. They treat their slaves equally to what they treat other Egyptians. Ambua gets picked by a high priest to be his slave. The high priest has two sons, and Ambua gets assigned to be a servent to one of them, Chebron. He and Chebron have many fun adventures, but they also have a few scary ones. The last scary one I read about was that Ambua and Chebron were hunting, and Chebron’s’ arrow missed the target and hit the cat of Bubastes. This was a crime because in Egypt, one of the gods they worshiped was a cat, and if you killed one, there would be serious consequences.
I don’t really have a guess to what will happen next. It’s hard to say because there are so many possibilities. I would recomend this book to you if you like reading about history. I don’t particularly like reading about history, but the story is getting a bit more interesting.
Thank you for taking the time to read this post. I hope you enjoyed it! Have a nice day.
