Nerva

In history, we learned about three emperors this week, but were told to write about one. I chose to write about Nerva, so read through the whole thing if you would like to learn about him too.

Nerva was born in 30 A.D. We know very little about his early childhood, but we do know a lot about his later life and his ruling. Nerva was very close friends with Vespatian, who started the Flavian Dynasty. Throughout his life, he was a questor, conul, advisor, and emperor. Nerva became ruler right after Domitian. Domitian was the last of the flavian Dynasty because Nerva started a new one. Nerva was loved by just about everyone. The senate and army liked him, which almost never happened back then. He cut back on taxes, built some buildings, and repaired some of ancient Rome.

That was really all the things we learned about Nerva. Oh! Except that he was one of the five good emperors: Him, Hadrian, Trajian, Antonius, and Marcus. I hope you enjoyed this essay, and please see my others if you liked this one. Have a fantastic day!!
